M’Beth Schoenfeld

M’Beth Schoenfeld, she/her, joined the ranks of OPEN after working as Building Energy Consultant for 4+ years. In addition to delivering top-notch energy modeling services on behalf of top consulting firms in the country, M’Beth pioneered the development of cutting-edge energy modeling workflows rooted in EnergyPlus and Python.
M’Beth holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. Following her engineering education M’Beth was accepted to the Master of Architecture program at the University of British Columbia. During her time there she focused on energy systems and technology in architecture and their impact on the environment. Motivated by a sense of environmental stewardship, M’Beth left the program to pursue a role in Energy Consulting with Morrison Hershfield.
In her role at OPEN, M’Beth combines her deep domain knowledge in energy simulation with analytical prowess to find fast, accurate, and cost-efficient methods of guiding building-related decisions.
When she’s not working, M’Beth is an active member of the local art community and an emotional support animal to her dog, Mendl.

OPEN Technologies grew out of the OPEN Green Building Society, a non-profit organization that has been developing open source software tools for the green building space since 2013. Today, OPEN Technologies and OPEN Green Building Society are affiliated organizations with a shared goal: to use data to shape a regenerative future for our cities.
