CaGBC Disclosure Challenge

The Disclosure Challenge demonstrates the power and market potential of sharing data in an interactive and coordinated way.

When collected and shared, building performance information becomes a powerful dataset that can drive significant emissions reductions, energy efficiencies and cost savings. However, these improvements are only made possible when access to reliable building performance data is provided to owners, occupants, and legislators. This tool – developed and managed for the Canada Green Building Council by OPEN on its GRID benchmark and disclosure platform – is an interactive public disclosure map that contains building data from QuadReal, Triovest, Concert Properties, Colliers, Minto, and other major real estate companies.  Each participating organization has agreed to full transparency and disclosed all the buildings in their portfolios – both high performing and low – as part of the challenge.

The project shows the potential of OPEN’s comprehensive software offering for municipalities, GRID.
